Ravenswood Gold Expansion Project 2021-2023
Client: Ravenswood Gold

Scope:
Minelec was involved in Stages 1 through 4 with the Ravenswood Gold Expansion Project. We used our years of innovative expertise and experience to provide electrical solutions to the project. Nearly 150,00-man hours of labour were required to create a new, highly automated conveying, crushing, screening and milling circuit.
Sun Metals Zinc Refinery Project 2020-2022
Client: Sun Metals Corporation

Scope:
Minelec won the tender to complete the install of the Electrical and Instrumentation to the new Electrolysis Building. The scope of work included the installation of 1x55MW Fuji Electric Rectiformer and relocation of 2 existing 48MW units. Minelec also carried out the 33kV and 6.6kV HV terminations for the project. In total the project consisted of over 125kms of cable, 560 instruments and 700 lengths of FRP cable ladder.
Caida Gold Mine Vent Fans 2023 -2024
Client: TLT-Turbo/Newmont Corporation

Scope:
Minelec were engaged to complete the installation of two new 1.5MW ventilation fans. The main ventilation system is designed to guarantee sufficient airflow within the mine. The Switchroom for the project is substantial, measuring 31.5 meters in length and weighing 69 tons and includes segregated High Voltage, Low Voltage, Variable Speed Drive and Communication rooms.

Scope:
Minelec and Townsville City Council have maintained a collaborative partnership for more than three decades. Our responsibilities encompassed the electrical installation for various amenities, including lights, the jumping pillow, BBQ facilities, and power supply for the cafeteria.
VECCO Vanadium Electric Townsville 2023
Client: VECCO Group

Scope:
Minelec were engaged by the VECCO Group to construct Australia's first commercial-scale vanadium electrolyte facility dedicated to supplying large-scale vanadium flow batteries, situated in Townsville. Our responsibility encompassed providing Electrical and Instrumentation services to ensure the facility's operational readiness. Subsequently, we have established an enduring partnership with VECCO, overseeing the ongoing maintenance activities for the facility.
Victoria Mill Boiler Upgrade 2022-2023
Client: Wilmar Sugar
Contract value: >$1M
Scope:
At Victoria Mill, we undertook an upgrade for Boiler Switch rooms 8 and 9, incorporating the installation of a new Motor Control Center (MCC) for the BD10 FD fan motor and B9 FWP motor. Additionally, safety PLC, Boiler CCTV cameras, and cable installations were upgraded as part of this project. Minelec enjoys a fruitful relationship with the client and carries out similar work across its assets each season.
Georgetown Gold Mine Refurbishment 2023
Client: Savannah Goldfields Limited

Scope:
Minelec were engaged in the first phase of the refurbishment and recommissioning of the Georgetown Gold processing plant. The mine had been in 9 years of care and maintenance and is now again processing ore. Minelec is responsible for the continual maintenance and operational support of the plant.
Ernest Henry Mine Chiller Plant 2021
Client: Gordon Brothers Industries
Contract Value: >$1M
Scope:
Electrical, Instrumentation and Control design and construction of a new chiller plant including modifications to existing mine cool pack (MCP) and bulk air cooler (BAC) area plus the install of new BAC fan. The scope also included the full programming and commissioning of a new ControlLogix PLC, and PanelView Plus HMI, including inter-PLC communications to the BAC & MCP.
RAAF Townsville Fuel Safety Upgrade 2022
Client: St Hilliers
Contract Value: >$1M
Scope:
The overarching goal of the DFTP initiative was to establish a secure, streamlined, and reliable fuel network. Minelec's scope of responsibility encompassed the provision of materials, installation, final design, management, testing and commissioning of the electrical, instrumentation and control components including fuel Bayload Controllers, Ground Proving Systems, Overfill Protection and a SIL rated Safety PLC.
